The launch of Turkey's first domestic car, Togg, is eagerly awaited. On the road that started out as a dream, there is little time left to start the anthem. Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology, stated that Togg will be offered for sale this week.
Serial production started on October 29 at Togg's production base in Gemlik, Bursa. About 20,000 cars will be produced by the end of the year. It is aimed to deliver 1 million vehicles by 2030.
Pre-Togg tax regulation
In the past few days, SCT tax bases have been regulated. Accordingly, electric vehicles whose engine power does not exceed 160 kW and whose tax-free price does not exceed 1 million 250 thousand TL will enter the 10 percent SCT segment. 40 percent SCT will be applied to vehicles exceeding 1 million 250 thousand TL. 50 percent SCT will be collected from electric vehicles with an engine power exceeding 160 kW, but whose price does not exceed 1 million 350 thousand TL, and 60 percent from vehicles that exceed this amount.
Asking the price
These details give a clue about the price of the curious Togg. Accordingly, the sales price of Togg, which will remain in the 10 percent tax bracket, is expected to be around 1 to 1.3 million liras.
Critical steps for charging stations
Turkey's automobile will provide an uninterrupted driving experience. A critical move was made to spread Trugo, Togg's domestically produced charging station, across the country.
Businesses that are members of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey will be able to provide space for the establishment of Trugo. Eligible fields will be reported to Togg. Togg will evaluate suitable locations to form the station network. Adequate electrical infrastructure for charging stations will also be another condition.
